St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Milton was consecrated in 1890 by the Rt. Rev. Edwin Gardner Weed III under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Florida. It was built with local virgin timber from Bagdad Mills. This Carpenter Gothic church with lancet windows and decorative gingerbread trim featured a coal burning pot-bellied stove and chimney before it was remodeled. The coal storage room is now a nursery.
